Helmut Newton

Helmut Newton - born Helmut Neustädter (1920-2004) - was a German photographer who later moved to Australia. He worked as a fashion photographer for magazines like French, British and Australian Vogue, and Harper's Bazaar. His style was marked by erotic, very stylized scenes, often with sadomasochistic and fetishistic undertones. He also worked in portraiture and more fantastical studies though. Later in his life he lived both in Monte Carlo and Los Angeles. He died after a car crash in the driveway of the Chateau Marmont, which had been his LA home during the last of his years.

Here is some of his work...

  1. One of my favourite photographers...love his work :)) Always good to see naked ladies really in gorgeous stockings and what not! But, I just love the fierce-ness that comes from the ladies in the photos..stunning!! xx
